r The barque Benjamin Heape, from arrived at noon in tow of the Samson. She-brings a general cargo and fifty passengers. Sailed' from Povt Phillip Heads on the 26th iilt., and had a passage characterised- by heavy south-easterly pales during preater pai-t of the time. On the 2nd instant she exchanged signals with the ship Bruce, from Otngo, then in 15° 44' E., and 42° 40' S. The schooner Vibilia cleait-d out on the same day, sailing some time before, and is new at the Heads. The new steamer Golden Age, inteuded for the Pent Chalmers and Dunedin tiado, and which was expected to have started about the s'une time as the' Benjamin ;Heape, was detained in consequence, it is said, ot the diificulty of, procuring any person ready to undertake the work of brinpin,; her down to Ota^o; the supposed late ot the Comet and Citizen having its effect in deteiring seafaring men from undertaking the risk. The City of Hobart had arrived on the 25uh, previous to the departure of the 'benjamin Heape, of course in sufficient time for the mail. TLe^ Gothenburg had not arrived. The -vessels advertised^ aa on tho berth at Melbourne' for Otngo are—the City of Melbourne, Almeda, Torrent, Bessie, Eliza Goddard, Samuel Appleton, and -Kdr'-Wester. The Planter and Mayflower, outward bpund, are till at the Heads.
