A CORRECTION. (To the Editor of ihe Daily Times.) Sir,—ln publ'sbing my letter on the Routes to the Diggings, iv this day's Times, you have the signature thus:— James Gibson, _ , {Late of M'Leod and Gibson). It should be— James Gibson, (0/ M'Leod and Gibson). The alteration is a serious mistake on your part, as you can ascei tain by refereuce to my manuscript I must request you to publish this in explanation, and if my letter is pub'i-hed in the weekly issue, please see that the error is not repeated. How would it answer tovfcax owners of dogs 25.4 for each dog, to be paid during, the month of January each year, heavy penalties to be enforced if not paid, the person paying tax to receive a brass collar|ticket, with the year and: a progressive number stardped on it, also to receive a paper licence with his owi£ name; 'and name, number, and;description/of do» inserted,' which licence he must produce to anypolicemati-on I demand; the register of these licences (obefeept by" i <th> police authorities.
