THE DISTRESS IN THE MANUFACTURING DISTRICTS.
Di3tress in Lancashire continues to increase. The Times says there Tare now about 200,000 persons dependent on charity for support.- Large sums were being constantly subscribed, and forwarded to local committees for distribution.
Great satisfaction has been expressed by the English Press at the heartiness with which the Australians have come forward to succour the distressed at home.
