Sydnky, Friday, Nov. 15. James Kennedy has been convicted, at. Goulbourn, of an attempt to violate Ann Clear, a married woman, and his brother and mother, aged sixty, of abetting him. They were each sentenced to two years' imprisonment, with hard labor. . • A good deal of damage has been done by bush fires in Dlawarra.
The third reading of the Claims Against Government Bill was carried this afternoon.
The Presbyterian ■, Synod havevrefused to consider Dr. Lang's application for rescinding his" expulsion, on the ground that the applicatiomis couched in un-~ courteous language. . :
