DUNEDIN LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Driver, Maclean, and Co.'s report for week ending11st November, 1862 :—

Fat Cattle.—Although the supply during the week has been larger than usual, cattle of' good quality realized freely our late quotations. Number offered, 120 head, of which 70 were taken for the diggings. We sold 50 head from Messrs Lockhart and D ilzell's tun at an average of L26—these were, however, very prime and heavy weights. Also a lot of very ordinary cattle from the Upper Clutha—7o head—at average of LlB. The trade are moderately supplied for the coming week, aud any attempt to move oft a large lot would tend to rerluce'prices. By the Gothenburg we have advices from Gipps Land to 24th uit., up to that time no cattle had been shipped to this port, and we are inclined to think that only a very limited number will be sent forward. We see no reason for changing our last quotations. Say, for first quality cows and bullocks, Gss to 70s per 100 Ib 3. Inferior do, 50s per 100 lbs. Fat Calves are in demand at L 4 to L 5 for best quality. Stove Cattle.—Since the issue of the Proclamation admitting cattle from Gipps Land, transactions have been entered into with extreme caution buyers being uncertain of the effect it would produce. We are now in'brmed from reliable sources that the importation from Gipps L-rnd will be very limitel, and mostly confined to fat stock and working bullocks ; al&o, that cattle of good description are becoming vary scarce in the Wel.ington, Canterbury, and Nelson Provinces. We may therefore expect a gcod demand for store cattle, and present prices maintained. We quote first-class stores, aged two to seven years, at Lll to Ll3. Mixed herds at L 9 to Lll 10s, according to ago and condition. Working Bullocks and Dairy Cows.—The former are in active demand, and very scarce at L 55 to L6O per pair. Quiet well-bred cows are saleable at Lls to L2O, according to size and • ondition. Fat Sheep.—Number in during the week, 500 • these were all shorn, and realized 8.1 per lb. WetheiN, of quality, are scarce, and saleable at 9d per lb. Sales can only be made /or immediate consumption, as buyers anticipate a reduction in prices after shearing.

Store Sheep.—Young ewes are much inquired after, an 4 very saleable at 24s to 25s for imported, and 27s 01 to # 30s for Provincial; also large framed deliverable after shearing-hut buyers are not inclined to give prices demanded at present. Station Properties. -Numerous inquiries are daily being made ior runs witJi or without atock. Horses.—We have disposed of about 120 head of horses ex Samuel Appleton, trom Melbourne, at most satisfactory prices. We quote good draught horses and mares at LGO to LIOO, according to size and character ; good hacks, L 35 to LGO. Demand continues rery active, and good stock scarce.
