THE DUNSTAN DIGGINGS.
Mounted Constable Eagcrty arrived in town yesterday afternoon fro.n the Dunstan D'oS'ngs, bringing a despatch from Mr. Inspector Keddell, the officer in charge of thj field. Mr. Keddell's report, brquglit dnwn by the constable, haa no reference to the goldfield or its prospects, being entirely taken up with police matters, but we learn that he !ns sent a report upon the field by the hand of a gentleman who should be in town today. The constable did not visit the actual workings, but as far as he could learn, the majority of the men at work were doing well. A large number hid nude no attempt to work, and had circulated discouraging reports. Hi stated, that, when o:i the way he saw great numbers of people oa tha road, g >in'» a i.i returning, the latter being in the min>rity.
