Daily Times Office, Friday Evening. No export entries were passed for gold at the Cusf&m House to-day.

Customs Re\enue collected at the Port of Dunedin, Thursday, August 28th, amounted to LB7l 4s. Od! The followinz are the principal items:—Whisky, 63 gallons,L2B 75.; brandy. 199 "gallons, L9O 13«. 3d; geneva, 162 gallons, L 73 ss. 3d.; wine, 304 gallons, 1,45 125.; tobacco, 686 lb.-«.. Lsl 95.; cKirs 61 lbs., £9 3s. ;sngar s 63,126 lbs,, L 221 7g. 2d.: dates! 93 bags, L 39 43. The alienee of any definite news from the new diggings causes a want of animation in our markets, any goods already forwarded, are on account of miners engaged, or at the extravagant-rates'of £140 to £200 a ton, a rate far too speculative to induce any of the houses ordinarily engaged in the country trade to forward supplies. Business in town is dull, and fine flour is moving at about £18 a ton, or otherwise there is nothingdoing. ° The. arrival of some 125 passengers from the neighboring province of Canterbury has caused ticme excitement.

DUNEDIN LIVE STOCK MARKET. Driver, Maclean & Co. report the market fully supplied during the week, although the quantity of stock in the yards ha.? not been greater than usual. The consumption ha 3 been much less from the fact of a large portion of the population having gone to the , new gold-fields, without having any fresh arrival from foreign ports. j We. do not expect any improvement for at least a fortnight, during which time our supply will be very • limited, as most of the fat stock intended for this market has been sent to the diggings. We do net, ! therefore, look for any decline in our late quotations. Fat Cattle.—We have sold at the following prices, viz., best bullocks, L 26 to L2S ; second ditto, L2O to L 24.; inferior ditto, Lls to L 1 8; best cows, L2O to L 23; second ditto, Lls to Ll7 ; inferior ditto, Ll2 to Ll4; equal to 555. to 603. per 100 lbs. Fat Calvss are very scarce, and saleable at L 4 to ] L 6 each. Store Cattle.—We have no change to note in our last quotations. Holders are very firm in the prices asked,.say, well-bred quiet cattle, Lll 10s. to Ll2 103.; second quality, LlO to Lll. Dairy Cows and Working Bullocks are saleable if in good condition, and well bred, at Lls to 12' i; for former (price according to quality), latter at L4O to L6O per pair. Fat Sheep.—The market has been fairly supplied, although the quality was not very good, and we cannot expect any very prime sheep for the next two months. We have sold 1000 wethers, at 335., average weight about 47ibs. Prime wethers would realize 40s. to 455. Stokk Sheep.—Young ewes are scarce Rnd very saleable; we have also many inquiries for good acclimatized wethers. Holders are not inclined to sell until after shearing. Station Property.—We know of several good buyers in the market, but holders are not disposal to sell. Horsk3.—The active demand for the past fortnight has cleared the market of everything at all good. Weight carryiug hacks, pack horses and good draught stock are much wanted, and would meet ready sale at paying prices. We have received forty head of hacks, harness, and draught horses, a very, first-rate lot, and will be sold by auction on Saturday, 30th instant. Driver, Macleax, and Co., Stock and Commission Agents. 29th August, 1862
