Government Notice - POMAHAKA'DISTRICT, . Blocks 1, 2, and 3. ■VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Blocks 1, 1\ 2, and 'A, of the Pomahaka District, will be open for Application on MONDAY, the 15th day of September, and the Applications decided on THURSDAY, the 25th day of September, 1862. The land comprised withiu these three Blocks is situate between the Pomaliaka and the Clutha; and is about 20 miles north from the Clutha Ferry. There is a good supply of Bush on the wooded islands of the Clutha, which are in the immediate neighbour, hood. There are about 13,000 acres in the three Blocks. W. 11. CUTTEN, Chief Commissioner. Notice is hereby given that a sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal Business, will be holden at the Court House Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 16th day of September next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, and that a sitting for the despatch of Civil Business will ba holden at the Court House aforesaid, on Tuesday, the 23rd day of September next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at which, times and place persons under recognisance to appear as prosecutors, defendants,, or'witnesses are required to give their attendance. A MAN, named THOMAS M'CLAY, has been missing biuee the 19th of July last, on which day he was met near the Hawkesbury Bush by two men, named Jones and M'GUvray, who requested him. to show them the way to the above Bush; he left with them for that purpose, and has not siuco been heard of. M'Clay is well known in the Province as an old resident, and lias a wife and family residing at Waikouaiti; he is described as 50 years of age, 5 leet 10 inches in height, stout build, sallow complexion, with dark hair and eyes, miall black whiskers slightly grey ; generally wears a dark shooting coat and cab-bage-tree hat. He is known to be a hard drinker, and it is not improbable tluit he may be found at some bush public house, or way side shanty in the neighborhood of Oamaru or the Wjutaki. Meantime the two men, Jcnes' and M'Giivrny, are in custody ; and any information of M'CJay will be thankfully received by the Commissioner of Police.
