Messrs. Dj:ivek, Maclean k Co. report:— Although the yards have been fairly supplied with cattle the past woek, all that ciime to hand were taken by the trade at a sligh.t advance on our last quotations. The market is still bare of good mutton, and we fear the supply will continue short until after shearing. There are but few lots of fat sheep in the Province, and holders d#jiot seem inclined to sell at present. Fat Cattle.—We have sold all that were offered,; at say for best bullocks, L2B to L3O; second do, L2O to- L 25 ; inferior do, Lls to LlB ; best cows, L2O to L 24: second do, Ll6 to L 1 8; inferior do, Ll2 to Ll4. We sold a lot of 60 head, one-third cows and one-third bullocks at above rates,

_ Fat Calves scarce, and very saleable at L4 to L 6 each.

Store Cattle.—Owing to the present high price i? } Ie north, and the reported discovery of new goldfaeJus, holders of cattle are asking an advance on our last quotations, say, for quiet, well bred cattle, aged, Lll IOstoLV2IQ»; second quality, LlOto Lll. We have sold 500 head very superior cattte at Ll2 103 per head.

Dairy Cows and Working Bullocks are much inquired for and scarce at for Quiet cows with calf at foot, or springing £15 to £25. Well bred bullocks in r,ood condition £40 to £00 per pair. -■ ■

Ewes (deliverable before shearing) 355. Wethers do., 275. Ott. to 30a." Statjos Property.—We have many inquiries for good runs, .with but few .offering for sale. Horses.—Although the market is still bare of good stock we have to note a considerable advance in price of rough heavy hacks for packing to the new diggings. The demand for anything that is at all useful is daily increasing, and should the excitement last a week longer, there will be but few available horses left in the market. Our sales of to-day are at least 50 per cent, in advance of prices last week. Ausust 22,18C2.
