During the fmt part of the uassafierhe Queen experienced .heavy head weather, "but soifJi of Well ing-ton had the north-easterly breeze whicii has lately prevailed. From Lvttelton she brought no English mail, the mail being k-ft for the Airedale, now hourly expected. The Wonca Wongn. left Lvttelton as the Queen was steaming out. On this occasion the Queen brings a considerable number ot passengers, among the nnmber Capt. Harper of the AYbite Swan, Capt, M'LelJan of the Tvra and some officers connected with H. As the vessel was entering Napier the signal gun which was being fired, burst scattering the laments over the ship, inflicting a severe wound on Mr. M'Dougall, and narrowly escaping others of the ship's crew. The man who fired the gun, it U said escaped uninjured, but one fragment penetrated the deck and knocked down a bullock. Another fm»ment went through the boarding of a cal>in in which one of the ship's company was dressing, but fortunately missed him.
