And be it enacted, That every person who, b; words or any other moans whatsoever, shall persuad any person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or im properly absent himself from his duty, shall forfci and'pay the sum of twenty pounds for every sue] act; and every person who shall assist or procure an, person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or iitijuM pearly absent "himself from his duty ; or shall coticval employ, or continue to employ any j.ei\son belungin; to Her Majesty's Navy, who shall be a deserter, o improperly absent from his duty, knowing him to b such a desertor, or so improperly absent, shall forfti and pay tlie sum of thirty pounds for every such as Bistance, procurement, concealment, employment, o continuing of employment, as aforesaid." Euclid, Books 1., 111. 6. .Roman History to the end of the Puju'c wars 7. Greek History to the end of the Persian wars 8. English History. 9.. Candidates for the second Scholarship will be examined in Scripture History, Geography, Arithmetic, writing English from Dictation, Latin Grammar, Jacob's Latin Reader, Eutropius, and English History. Candidates for the third Scholarship will be exmined in - Scripture History, Geography, writing English from Dictation, Latin Accidence, -English History and Arithmetic. The Scholarships will he awarded to the three boys ■who do best in the three several examinations. On the Ist of May, 18y3, nve Scholarships will be offered for competition, viz., two Foundation Scholarships of «£2O and £10 respectively, the Stafford Scholarship of £20, the Richmond Scholarship £30, and the Newcoine Scholarship of .£3O.
