COMMITTEE MEETING,
A 'Committee meeting of the Fire Brigade promoters, wa* held at the Commercial Hotel yesterday afternoon, at 4 o'clock. Present: —Messrs. E. Cajper, (in the chcir) Cargill, C c.ke, li. Han, li. E. Nathaa, Tickle, Rees, James Ilarmv, and I. Moss. Messrs. I.carv, W. 11. Mmnioid, and J. flyman, after being dnly" proposed and seconded, were added . to the Committee. Mr. James Rattray was theu elected Chairman of the Committee, ar.d Messrs. Hart, Martin, and Moss, joint Treasurers of ihe fund, any two of the treasurers to have power to sign cheques. Mr. W. H. Mumford was appointed Honorary Seereary. Proposed by Mr. F. Rattray, seconded by Mr. Cargill, and carried —" That immediate steps be taken by this Commit?.'*« to coileet subscriptions for tbe Fire JBrisracle Fu'iH^ and that the following gentleman !''■ requested to canvass in Dunedin as follows :_ Messrs. Ilnrt and Casper, for Princes-street. Messrs. Rattray and Cooke, for Walker and Staf-ford-streets. " Messrs. Martin and Tickle, for Rattray and Mac-laga-an-strccts. , Messrs. Miss and M'Lamlress, for High-street, Manse-stre-e"t, and Jetty-stnct. Mes-rs.'Leary, Nathan, Rees, and Mumford, for beyond tf-e Cutiinsr. Aud that these gentleman be asked to perform this service on Monday and Tuesday first ensuing.
