Tiie Aldinga has again made a rapid passage of five days four hours from Melbourne. By her arrival we are in possession of papers to the 2s) th July, but they contain no news of importance. The Argm of that date contains the following telegraphic despatches :— Beechwortii, Monday. A larire reservoir, which has- been recently ejected for the Government at Sandy Creek, has given wav, ■caiMiier great damage. The*loss is estimated at s-jine thousands cf pounds. A me-ting will take place on Thursday, fbr the purpose of raising subscriptions for the distressed people in Lancashire. The coach from Melbourne is daily from four to sixhours after time, owing to the wretched condition o the roads. Stdsey, Monday. Several burglaries and robberies aro reported at the Lachlan. Efforts to swell the Lancashire relief fund continue unabated. A public meeting on the subject bas been held at Parramatta, and the musical profession are about to unite in a voluntary concert.
