In addition to her e«i«rf», she brought some passengers and a mail. From her appearance she must have experienced some heavy weather. The details, and files of papers, there was not time to receive at the Port. A barque came inside the Heads about noon, but "Ot aground about half way up the channel, and gives no indication of moving. She is supposed to be the General Jc-ssup. May reach the Port this afternoon, and, -perhaps, not until next tide. The Samson' and Lyttelton have taken another batch of passengers to Waikouaili, on their way to Highlit?, though the weather is not very favorable for the trip, or for the journey up the country. The only ship of the Australian Naval Squadron in the New Zealand waters, is H.M. steam slpop Harrier, 17 guns, Commander S'r Mnlcolm MacGregor, Bart., which is in attendance upon His Excellency the Governor, Sir George Grey, X.C.8., duviiiß- his tour of the Southern Provinces. About a fortnight since, •we had a flying visit from H.M. screw sloop Fawn, 17 guns, Commander Cntor, which touched here on her way to the Islands, to receive some deserters. From the Islands, the Fawn will proceed to Ilobnrt Town, and from thence return to this port. H.M. ships Miranda, 15 guns, Captain Robert Jenkins, and Pcforus, 21 guns, Commodore Seymour, were both at Sydney on the 27th May. Miranda reported as about to sail on a cruise to the Feejees. Pelorus ■waiting the arrival of her relief ship Orpheus, 21 guns, Commodore Burnett, immediately expected. The screw sloop Pioneer, 6 guns, Commander H. A. Keilly, was at Melbourne at date of last advices. The long expected schooner Sea Gull, Captain Morton, arrived from Picton, Nova Scotia, with our old and enterprising fellow colonist, Mr. M'Leod and family, nnd thirty passengers, nil told, on board. The passage of the Sea Guil appears to have been singularly unfortunate throughout, masts and spars being successively carried away in frequent and rapid succession, thereby entailing a necessity of refit at Pernambuco, at Portland, and a thorough overhaul here in Auckland. The Sea Gull is a fore-and-aft schooner, built of hackmatack at St. John's, is only two years old, of 126 tons register, reputed to be n very'fast and altogether a staunch and faithful craft, and as such, a goodly addition to our Auckland tonnage. New Zealnndei; May 28.
