__ ■ Business Notice. rrWTK readers of the Daily Times will recollect JL. a paragraph, which appeared some time ago in that paper, relative to v. very large quantity of rubbish, designated " prepared, meal," which had been imported into this market by some unprincipled firm, for tlie pm-poso of being mixed and sold to tlie public as Coffe. .'■'■ The public, however, have the remedy against being thus imposed upon in their own hands, and it may bo useful for th.m to know that it is impossible for Storekeepers to supply them with genuine coffee at prices lover than from Is. 9d. to 2s. per lb. All coffee therefore retailed below those prices, should be looked upoii with suspicion. _ .Another criterion, which should not be over-looked. Ib that the spurious article seldom bears the name of the vendor, and is never guaranteed. The reasons for this of course are obvious. BaiTon and Campbell's Coffee is now universally acknowledged to be tlie finest coffee in this market, and is likewise the only coiiee which is properly guaranteed, :■■ although storekeepers often substitute inferior kinds when this coffee is asked for, on account of _ the larger profit they have on the spurious article. - ' The public should, therefore, be particular that they get Barren and Campbell's coffee when they ask for it, .and observe rhat each package bears their name and well-known label. To.■■retain the confidence of the public in their coffee, Ba.cy.in and Campbell offer the sum of £100 - o any one .who will disprove their assertion that '■alt coffee prepared and sold by them, and bearing their signature, contains nothing but a mixture of pure coffee and chicory, or pure coffee, us the case may be." ... This coffee may be had of all storekeepers in town j and country, and (wholesale only) from BARIION & CAMPBELL, ■Wholesale Tea and Coffee Merchants, • Rattray-street, . '■ _________ Dunedin. . ■ PR.
