T.UNA. —It being the intention- of the Government to grant a Lease of 30 Acres of Ground for the erection of an ACCOMMODATION HOUSE, at Popotuna, on the great South Road, Tenders will be received at the Office of His Honor tbe Superintend dent, Dunedin, on or before FRIDAY, the 9th day of May, 1862, from parlies willing to erect said House. A good Stable for at least 8 Horses must also be erected. A Plan of the -whole to accompany tha - Tender. ' - . Tender to stale how much Ground Rent will be paid. The usual License Fee must be paid for the License to sell Spirits. The Lease will be for one year, but will be renewed from year to year, if the Housa is conducted to the satisfaction of the Government, as respects charges and otherwise. If the Lease is not renewed, however, tho property ereotod with tho sanction of the Government will be taken at a valuation. FREQUENT instances having occurred of Desertion from Her Majesty's Sea and Land Forces in this Colony, Notice is hereby given, that the most rigorous proceedings will be taken against any person enticing; away, harboring, concealing, or employing Deserters. " And be it enacted, That every person who, by words or any other means whatsoever, shall persuado -.auyperson in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly, absent himself from his duty," shall forfeit and pay the sum' of twenty pounds for every such act; and every person who shall assist or ■procure any person in Her Majesty's Nary to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty ; or shall conceal, employ, or continue to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty's Navy, who shall be a .deserter, or improperly absent from: his duty, knowing him to bo such a desertor, or so improperly absent, sliall forfeit and pay the sum of thirty pounds for every such assistance, procurement, concealment, employment, or continuing of employment, as aforesaid.'' . .
