Wind at Noon, N.E., light breeze ; weather, clear and fine; barometer, 29.85; thermometer, 56. High water to-morrow at Port Chalmers, 4.44 a.m., and 5.8 p.m.; atDunedin, an hour later. ARKIVALS. April 10—Guiding Star, s.s., 74 tons, Fraser, from Invercargill, in ballast; 6 passengers. DEPARTURES. April 16 —Louisa, felucca, 245 tons, Williams, for Lyttelton, part of original cargo of sugar from the Mauritius; 4 passengers. PASSENGEII LIST. Per Guiding Star, from Invercargill:—Mr. Hankinson and Mr. Walker. The Anna Kimball, with passengers for British Columbia, is expected to sail this evening.
In addition to the vessels mentioned yesterday, the William Watson has been laid on for passengers to Melbourne, and is advertised as the first ship to sail. No new sail have been seen at the heads to-day, and the vessels which were previously lying there weighed anchor on the change of wind to a favorable quarter. The new pilot schooner is now daily outside the Heads, with one of the pilots on board, ready to go on board vessels at a greater distance out at sea than when the whaleboats alone were in use.
