HIGHWAY ROBBERY AT MUNROE'S GULLY.
On the night of the 13ch inst., a man named itobcrt Milne, a miner, was assaulted, knocked lown, and, as he lay on the ground, robbed o £3 10s. and a miner's right—all he possessed The offenders kicked him in such a savage manner that he. was not able to stir. Next day two men. well known old offenders, were arrested and ■harged with the offence. Their names are respectively James Kegnn and John Allen, alias | Long Jack, who has'already performed n sentence I for highway robbery at Sandhurst, Victoria. On the person of Allen the stolen miner's right was found. Both prisoners have been fully committal for trial, aud will arrive per escort to-day, These offenders will add to the already very heavy calendar for the serious charge of highway robbery. "
