JUnrvill, Town Clerk of Windsor, who appeared or the defendants, said that it was not the desire of .Mr. Oxley to have the youths imprisoned; for although their conduct was exceedingly culpable, yet ue considered that they had been disgracefully tempted by persons of greater experience. Dr. Pearl dwelt: in strong terms upon the flagitious breach of trust'of which the defendants had beeu guilty. Were it. not that their master had appealed on their behalf and stated that their general ronduct had been previously good, and that they had hi en the dupes of iithers, the Bench would ha:e sentenced them to imprisonment with hard labor. As it was, the defendnuts were ordered to pay the costs and to forfeit one week's wages.
