SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
[From the South Australian Register]. M'Kiniay's Party.—The Government havo received a communication from the Victorian Exploration Committee, offering to render any assistance that may be needed to ascertain'the fate of Mr. M'Kinlay and his party : but that, for the present,' they have intimated that there are no reliable grounds for supposing the party to have been attacked by the blacks, or to have been placed in any position of danger. We hope that the services of our friends in the neighbouring^ colony will not be required in the matter in which they have so humanely volunteered their aid. It is exceedingly gratifying however, to receive such expressions of their sympathy. The Far North.—Mr. Walter Jacka has just arrived in Adelaide from the far north* and has furnished us with the following important information s—Ho states that the blacks had reported to the overseer of Jacob's outside station that the party (supposed to be M'Kinlay's) had all died, or '• tumbled down," as they say-in their vernacular ; and the horses or " nautos," as well. 'as the camels, or " long-back nautos, carying piccaninny hills," had all shared a similar fate, Our informant adds that the natives were, when he, left, mustering very strong, and becoming somewhat troublesome. Seven hundred, it was reported, were going-down to Chamber's Mbolooloo station scouring the country on their way. The stations, were looking well, and had been recently visited; by a few light showers. . .
