The Senior Commissariat Officer or Officer deputed by him to have the power ot inspecting the live Cattle and Sheep'intended for slaughter, and of rejecting any animal considered unfit for the use of the Troops. The Mould Candles arc to be properly seasoned by being kept on hand by the Contractor for a suitable period after manufacture. The firewood to be hard wood, split and cut into lengths of 4 feet. The Contractor for supplying Firewood must have constantly' on hand, near the Camp or Barracks, in a place to be approve < by the undersigned, or hisVu'ccessor in office, a slock sufficient for 14 days'' consumption, from which stock alone_ the issues are to be made. The stock to be.at all times subject to the inspection of the Commissariat, and all wood that is objected to at such inspection must be immediately removed. The Wood, although paid for by weight, according to tlio Tender, must be delivered by measurement, amf stacked for that purpose by the Contractpr pn delivery ; Yl cubic feet being' considered equivalent to a ton of 2240 lbs.
