Entries to be made, and lots for position drawn on Saturday, 22nd inst., at Taieri Ferry. Hotel, from 8 to 10 o'clock, p.m. v, 2. No post, entry allowed, except for boats not in river in time to enter. 3. No sailing boat will be allowed to u^e oars, paddles, or poles, nor take in or throw out ballast after storting. Open cargo boats will not be allowed to use wash streaks or cloths. No scoops allowed to wet the sails after starting. • « h ' 4. A gun will be fired, and flags hoisted at 8 a.m., on the morning of the Regatta. If notdioisted, the Regatta will be postponed till the following day. The Committee reserve to themselves the power to postpone the Regatta, should the weather 'be unfavorable, i. . .. 5. Each boat in the matches to carry a distinguishing flag, which must be kept flying at'the main; flags for pulling boats to be not less than one foot square, and carried at the how. :> 6. Sailing boats to be anchored in a line ; to start with all canvas down. 7. There will be no restriction as to canvas m any race, unless specially noticed in foregoing Rule: 8. A gun will be fired fifteen minutes >efore each race, as a signal for taking position... Marryatt's signal flag or flags corresponding.-with the number of the race on -the programme will be hoisted. Each race will be started by the firing of a guh from the Flag Ship, and dropping the numeral flaw. 9. The first gun to be fired from the Flag Ship at half-past nine.a.m., to prepare for the first race. 10. Three boats must start in every race: 11. Boats on the port tack to give way for those on the starboard tack. Boats running,free to.'keep away from those on the wind. Any boat wilfdHy fouling another, to be considered disqualified. 12. Protests in any of the matches inustj. bo given in writing tp the Umpire as soon as possible after the race, ' 13. The decision of the Umpire to be -in all cases final. 14.
