(Before E. Musgrave, i.sq., jb.ai ; ) Assault on Board the " Lady Young. — Alonzo Merchant and Henry Wilson, seamen, were charged with assaulting James Conway, and creating a disturbance on board the ship " Lady Young,' on Saturday last. The case against Merchant wasproved, and he was fined 10s. ; the other case was dismissed^ Committal op Captain of "Lady Young for Contempt.—ln connection with the above case, a charge arose against William Morrison, master of the " Lady Young." After the decision of the Bench had been given, the master of the " Lady Young" expressed himself dissatisfied with the punishment as too lenient for the nature of the charge preferred, and, notwithstanding the willingness of the magistrate to hear any further charge, made use of disrespectful language, for which the Magistrate committed him for 24 hours, as guilty of contempt of court.
