C —The words " Freehold," " Household," or " Leasehold," or " Holder of a Miner's Right, dated 186 ," to be inserted here. D—Describe the property distinctly, but as shortly as possible; and particularly state the Provincial Distinct in which it is situated, by inserting the words " City of Dunedin," Eastern, Western, Port Chambers, Central, Tokomairiro, Clutha, Northern, Maniototo, Oamaru, or Tuapeka " District." The following are the Qualification of Voters: — Every man of the age of 21 years or upwards. 1. Having a Freehold Estate in possession situate within the District for which the vote is claimed of the clear value of £50 above all charges and incuinbrances and of or to which he has been seised or entitled either at Law or in Equity for at least six calendar months before the 30th of April; or 2. Having a Leasehold Estate in possession situate within such District of the clear annual value often bounds, held upon a Lease, which on 30th April shall pot have leas than 3 years to run, or of which he has ncen in possession for 3 years or upwards next before 30th April; or 3. Being a Householder within such District occupying a Tenement and residing therein six calendar months previous to the 30th April, if within the limits of Dunedin, of the clear annual value of ten pounds, and if without the limits of Dunedin of the clear annual value of five pounds; 4. Being the holder of a Miner's right not less than three months before the SOthof AprilT in any goldiield duly constituted under the Gold Fields Act. Must be sent to the Registrar's Office before the 31st March. DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTEICTS OF DUNEDIN, BRUCE, AND HAMPDEN,i. WITHIN REFERRED TO. 1. City op Duxedin.—The Town of Dunediu as originally laid out by the New Zealand Company, including the Town Belt. 2. Bruce.—ls bounded on the north by the Hampden District, from the mouth of the Waikouaiti River to the confluence of the Minzionburn and Clutha River; thence by a line to the summit of Mount _Spvla-,v; thence down the Spylawburn to iis confluence with the Pomohaka River; thence on the west by the Pomahaka River to the confluence of the Waipahi Creek; thence by the Waipnhi Creek to the confluence of the Kawcra Creek; thence by a line to the Otaria Peak; thence on the south-west by a line to Cattlin's Cone; thence by Cattlin's River to the sea ; .and thence by the sea to Waikouaiti River —excepting the city of Dunedin. 3. Hampdex.—ls bounded on the north and northeast by the Heathcote and Ti'inaru Districts ; on tho north-west, by the sea; on the south-west and south by a line from the head of Milford Haven to the AVaikatipu Lake; thence by that Lake to the Knwarnu River; thence by that River to Clutha River; thence by the Clutha River to the confluence of the Minzionlmrn; thence by the Minzionburn to Lammerlaw Peak; thence by a line to the nearest source of the Deep Stream; thence down the Deep Stream to its confluence with the Taieri River; thence by a line duo east across the Silver Peak Hills to Cherry Farm Creek; thence down that Creek to its confluence with the Waikouaiti River, and down the Waikouaiti River to the sea; and on the east by the sea. REGULATIONS FOR TUB DISPOSAL, SALF,, LETTING AND OCCUPATION OF THE WASTE LANDS OF THE CROW> T IN TIIIC PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY : AS AMENDED. 1. A LL Regulations now in force in the ProXjL vince of Canterbury for the sale, letting, disposal, and occupation of the Waste Lands of| the Crown are hereby repealed. 2. All such Waste; Lands shall, from and after the day on which those Regulations shall came into force, be sold, let, disposed of, and occupied according to these Regulations, and not otherwise. 3. Every Act which the Superintendent is hereby authorised or required to perform he shall perform solely in accordance with the advice of his Executive Council for the time being, and such advice shall be recorded on the minutes of the Council. II. —THE WASTE LANDS BOABP. 4. There shall be established a Board to be called the Waste Lands Board, to consist of one Chief Commissioner, and of not less than two nor more than five other Commissioners, all of whom (except such one as shall be appointed to act as Treasurer) shall be appointed and be removable by warrant under the hand of the Superintendent. 5. One member of the Waste Lands Board shall also be the Treasurer thereof, and such member shall be appointed and removable by the Governor. C. The Waste Lands Board'shall sit at the principal Land Office of the Province, at certain stated times to be determined by the Superintendent, and sh;ill also sit for special purposes at such places and at such times as the Superintendent shall direct; of which] [sittings due notice shall be given in the Provincial i Government Gazette, and one or more newspapers i published in the Province. ' 7. The Chief Commissioner when present, and in his absence then some member selected by those pro-1 sent at any meeting of the Board, shall preside there-! at, and shall have a casting vote in all questions coining before the Board. 8. All questions coming before the Board shall be decided by a majority of the Commissioners present thereat. 9. All meetings of the Board shall be attended by ut least three Commissioners, and shall be open to the public. 10. All applications for Land and for Pasturage and for Timber Licenses shall, after hearing I'vidi/neo when necessary, be determined by the Hoard at some sitting thereof. 11. The Board shall have power to hear and determine all disputes between the holders of Pasturage and Timber Licenses respecting the boundaries of runs and districts, and shall have and exercise all the powers which may be lawfully had and exorcised by any Commissioner of Crown Lands, under the provisions of the " Crown Lands Ordinance, Sess. X., No. 1 ;" and the "Crown Lands Extension Ordinance, Sess. XL, No. 10." 12. All the routine business of the Land Department shall be transacted by the Chief Commissioner, subject to such regulations as may be made by the Board in that behalf. 13. A book to be called the " Application Book " shall be kept open during office hours nt the Lund Office, in which the name of every person desiring to make any application to the Board shall be written in order by himself or any person duly authorised on his behalf. And the Commissioners shall, during the sitting of tin: Board, consider and determine all nppliratioiis in tho order in which they shall appear in the Application book. Provided that if any person shall not appear himself or by some person d|i!y authorised on liU belip"' before the Board when called in .his turn, his :ipp.i.v;tlon shall be dismissed until his name shall uppciir figiiin in the Book in order. Provided also that if two or more persons shall apply at the same time to write thtiv names in the Application Book the Chief Commisvoner shall bracket their names, and shall initial the bracket; and when they shall appear before the Board, the Board shall determine the priority of right to be hard by lot. And it shall not be lawful for the Board to hear any application except such as shall be made in accordance with this regulation. 14.
