Commercial.
Daily Times Office, Monday evening. Our correspondent at the goldfields furnishes tlie following commercial report:— Business during tlie week has been characterised by dullness. There are very heavy stocks on kind, and in many instances goods ars sold at prices which tear no relation 1,0 trie annexed list. Storekeepers here find themselves competed with by draymen, who purchase in Dunedin an assorted stock of goods, and hawk them about tlie diggings. These men frequently sell at very low rates, and the trade of tlie legitimate storekeeper is destroyed, it is by no means an uncommon occurrence to find a drayman planted opposite a store that has cost hundreds of pounds, and coolly selling away without, perhaps, either a business or hawker's license. Something should be done to put an end to so manifest an injustice. The following list of prices current is furnished us by Messrs. J. H. Moses & Go.
