March 1. 1. p.m.—Burnett, brig, 137 tons, Foreman, for Sydney, in ballast. Twenty-one passengers. 4. p.m.—W. B. Dean, 92 tons, McEachern, for Wellington, in ballast. Four passengers. 5. p.m.—Omeo, s.s., MoLachlan, for Melbourne, in ballast ; gold and passengers. Passengers per Lord Ashley, from Sydney and Northern Ports :—Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Morton, Mr. raid Mrs. Lakeman, Mra. MeGlashan and infant. Miss McGlashan, Miss Giu-ner, Messrs. Houghton, Davies, Lency, Rich, Hooper, Bishop, Martin, J. Martin, Gordon, and Roy: 25 in the steerage. The "Omeo," which left for Melbourne on Satur- , day afternoon, had 119 passengers on board, and - 13,5030z5. 4dwt. 12gr. of gold. The Lord Ashley, steamer. Captain Wheeler, arrived at tho Port on Saturday evening, having left Sydney on the 16th ultimo, and tlie several Northern ■ Ports of this colony at the dates stated in o\ir Port , Chalmers report. Some hope was entertained that . the Lord Ashley might have brought the English Mail, but that was impossible, the mail not having been telegraphed from Adelaide when she left. The barque Arabella, as will be seen by our Wellington correspondent, was discovered to be on fire lately, when lying at Wellington, but the fire was fortunately extinguished before it had extended far. The supposition is tliat it was the work of an incendiary. Tha ss " Storm Bird," Captain Mundie, arrived here from Lyttelton and Otago on Saturday, the 15th inst., at half-past six o'clock fa tbe evening; left for Wanganaui the following day (Sunday), at 4 p.m., arrived alongside the wharf in the river at 9. p.m. next day; took her departure from thence at 12 o'clock yesterday, and arrived here nt -half-past one o'clock this morning ; thus accomplishing the shortest voyage on record to and from Wanganui, in the space of 57J hours.—" Wellington Advertiser," Feb. 10. The s.s. "'Wonsra Wonga," Captain Renner, left Wellington at. 1.30 p.m. on he 18th instant, experienced" lie-ht head winds during the greater part of the passage, and arrived at Otago Heads at 4 p.m. on the 20th—making the run from heads to heads in less than fifty hours. ' Sailed from Otago Herds at 10 p.m. on the 22nd instant, experienced light EasleWy and ; N.E. winds aud calms during the greater part of the passac-c. and arrived at this "harbor at 4.30 p.m. on the 24th instant—having made the passage from heads to heads in 42-J hours. Captain Renner reports the bviaautiuc " Pat the Rover," from Ofago to ' Napier, about twenty-five miles south of Banks' ; Peninsula.— lbid, Feb. 10.
