STABBING.

Yesterday afternoon two men named Wheeldon and Johnson were talking top^tlier at the Queen's Arms Hotel, when Johnson made some remarks about America, at which the other took offence. High words ensued, and Wheeldon, becoming exasperated, suddenly drew a knife and stabbed Johnson in the breast, near the collar bone. The wounded man was removed to the Hospital, bleeding profusely, and Wheeldon was taken in charge by the police. We understand that the wounded man is in rather a dangerous condition. His assailant will be brought up at the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning.
