From Sir. T. Dick on tlie subject of certain money subscribed by the inhabitants of George Street, some time ago for tlie purpose of effecting improvements there, when supplemented by the board. It was resolved to proceed with the work. From Jas. Osgood, informing the Board that he was about to start a City express waggon, and requesting the Board to grant a stand for it at the corner of Princes and Stafford Streets.—lt was resolved that the Board has no power to make such a grant.' A communication from the Superintendent, in reply to the Board's request about the well in Princes-street, was read, informing the Boardthat the Government had no objection to their erecting a pump upon it, but tbey had no power of alienating the. ground, as ifc wad already reserved. It_ was resolved to expend a sufficient sum in erecting a pump over the well. In reply to a letter from certain inhabitants of Hope-street, it was resolved to expend a sum'of .€SO in opening up that street, if the inhabitants would raise an equal sum. A complaint from Edward Caspar about a bank in Stafford-street having been read, the Clerk was instructed to inform him that the subject was under consideration. An offer from Mr. Pilmcr to repair two culverts in George-street, wliich he said were in a dangerous state, was declined. 1 The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for ■ the construction of some drains in Rattray aud • M'Laggan Streets. ■ The question of appointing a Town Surveyor was ■ allowed to stand over till next meeting. The Clerk was authorised to erect two directing posts to the manure depot, and also, to call for tenders for the construction of a stone channel in M'Lagganstreet, opposite Griffith's Hotel. Dr. Hulme and Mr. Graham were appointed a committee to examine and report upon the best means ' of prcservimg Wilkie's well. Tbe Clerk' was instructed to call for tenders for . metalling Princcs-strcct. to its full width, from Walk- . er-street to the cutting. He was also authorised to employ a temporary assistant. ; The Board then ahjourned till next Monday.
