We extract thu following particulars from it : — The Ordinances-passed by the Otago Provincial Council,- entitled tne Dunedin Roads and Streets "Ordinance,- and th(. Appropriation Ordinance, have been left to their operation, and the Provincial Council Extension Ordinance reserved for the Governor's pleasure, has been duly assented to. The following gentlemen have been nominated.to the commission of the peace. Major Croker and Captain Baldwin's appointments to Resident; Magistrateships, are also notified, tin are also Mr. Stroue's appointment to Dant'dii) ; and the accoptance of Mr. Harris' resignation of the District Juclgeship and Resident Magistrateship. Mr. TiiomasWindle Parker is appointed to the Sub-collectorship of Customs at the Port of'Omaru. .:

Letters patent for fourteen years was granted to John Frahent for an invention for the preparation of the fibre of the flux plant for manufacturing purposes.
