MOXDAV, 2i)Tll JASL'AUY, 1862. (Before A. Clictlumi Strode, Esq., R.M.) George Crantou and George Williams, two of the ringleaders of the riot yesterday at Port Chalmers, were each sentenced to be imprisoned and kept to hard iahour for the space of two calendar months. Thomas Hrown, George Piekford, William Stanhouse, ai.d John Sinclair, were each sentenced to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for the space of one calendar month, for attempting to rescue a prisoner whilst in lawful custody at the time of the riot.

Thomas Murray was also sentenced to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for the space of 14 days for assaulting a constable at the same time.
