PROVINCE OF OTAGO, NEW ZEALAND. npENDERS required from parties willing to X contract for erecting'a line of Telegraph between Dunedin, Port Chalmers, and the Heads, subject to the following conditions:— 1. The Government to grant permission to carry the line through its reserves, and along the Government roads and lands. 2. Sites to be set aside at Dunedin, Port Chalmers, and the Heads, for the erection of (Stations. 3. Government messages to have the precedence of Contractor's or private messages. 4. Private or Contractor's messages to be despatched and delivered in order of receipt at the Office, to be marked alike. 5. Telegraph servants to be appointed by Government, subject to Contractor's approval; the Government to have absolute power to discharge them. 6. The Manager to be appointed by Government, who will have charge of all messages, and who will see that they are transmitted in proper order. 7. Contractors not to have access to messages, but to be allowed to see that the books are properly kept. 8., Charges as per annexed Schedule. 9 Contractors to keep the line in order, to pay all working expenses,' including the salary of * the Manager. 10.
