MELBOURNE SHIPPING NEWS.
The ship " Astrea," from Otago, has made a fine run of 12 days. Captain Simpson reports having had baffling* winds in the Straits. The following are the anticipated departures of ships for Otago from Melbourne:—Oithona, 1000 tons, Dec. 24; Alma, 1000 tons, Dec. 17 ; Thames, 1500 tons, Dec. 17; Colchester, early; Donati, 1500 tons, Dec. 18; John Bryant, 1500 tons, Dec. 18; Nor'wester, 2500 tons, Dec. 19; Sea Breeze Dec. 16; Brilliant, Dec. 17; Golden Spring, 300 tons, Dec. 18. The following vessels have sailed from Melbourne for Otago: —Hirondelle, Dec. 13; Union, Dec. 13; Briton, Dec. 13; 13th, Danube; Dec. 9th, the Colchester, Golden Spring, John Bryant, Sarah Esther —all entered outwards for Otago on the 12th Dec.
