Although there might have been some slight ground for fearing a glut in this market a short time ago, the recent confirmation of the permanont success of the Gold Eields has entirely removed it — and well selected consignments will meet with ready and profitable sale. The last mail took out very" considerable orders from this place, a proof of the confidence of the mercantile community. At a sale of a portion of the well-bred flock of George Rich, Esq., held, at Cnristchureh a few days :vj-o, 12. imported ewes, by the best French and Spanish blood, realized £400 ; the highest price given for any single ewe being £50. Six imported French ewes fetched £247.; the highest price paid for any single CAve being £55, given by a Melbourne buyer for exportation to Victoria. There have been entered at the port of Dnnedin from July 1 to Oct.' 30 : —:From ports out of New Zealand, 118 ships,'with an aggregate tonnage of 43,878 tons. Erorn ports in New Zealand, 94 vessels, with a tonnage of 11,684 tons. Total, 212 ships, and 55*562 tons.
