PURE FOODS. ORIGINAL SPECIFIC-REGULATION-AS APPLYING TO " OATMEAL UNDER THE PURE FOODS ACT, 1908. Oatmeal shall be the meal produced by grinding Oats (Avena Sativa) after the removal of the husk. It shall contain not less than five parts per centum of ethereal extract; it shall not contain any foreign substance. We have strongly urged upon the Chief Health Officer the necessity to amend the above regulation relating to Oatmpfti as \vf*lE as Out foods of all kinds* as we had ample proof that admixtures of cheaper grains were being used by som? makers for their own profit.
