On Saturdav and Sunday heavy ram flooded the "Wanganui and Ongarue rivers to the highest levels known for a, number of years. Both rivers wore running bank to bank. A fair amount of erosion was eajised. but nothing senous is reoorted. The new traffic bridge mid protection works at tfef? Waugniiuu River stood the test well. At the boat landing the Ongarue was 9ft above the ordinary water-manks, and it is doubtful if the river boat can go down today. There is reported to he 26R or extra water at the houseboat. She is now anchored over flower-beds.
