Per Press Association. CHRISTCHUiiCH. August 27. There was a spirited discussion _»t; a meeting of the executive of tlie North Cante.rbui*y .Farmers' Union on the subject of the desirableness of the' Government. continuing to commandeer certain of the products of the Dominion, and fix the prices, of same. The motion before the meeting was forwarded by the Oxford branch, and read: "That this branch approves of fixed prices, for a year or two to come, but not lower than previously, and provided that the Dominion Government receives the profits." The idea was generally favored, but before remitting the matter to the conference it was decided that the branches should discuss the matter and report to next meeting. -
