Tho new programme to be screened at the Opera House to-night should attract a record house. The stt-ar film isi "apartment 29," featuring Ernie Williams as Stanley Ormsby, a dramatic critic, who, though announcing a .new play as "rot-ten," falls foul of the .author,' and the company responsible for its iproduction. He is sent to interview! a- singer and, on entering the building he is diverted from bis mission by a woman falling at his feet atthe door of apartment 29, apparently dead. He picks her up and carries her inside, and there finds her husband 1 shot. Realising that to be found there fixes the guilt on him, lie seeks means of -escape, and by the playwright, who in return demands a heavy bribe. He escapes, but becomes mixed up in a street fight-, and is rescued by the police, who recognise him and charge him with murder.
