OAMARU HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The ..monthly meeting of the Oamaru Hospital Trustees was* held in the Secretary s rooms Jast evening, when there were present: Messrs J. D. Grant (Chairman;, W. W. Dawson, A. S T n '<uL J - D. Fahiilton J. 1. Oakden, P. W. Humphries, L E Haines An apology for absence was received] from Mr H. Grenfell. Mr J Allen reported that he had examined, th e surgery roof, andl said that six sheets of new iron/would repair aii 1 was ' to". iiM-nict Mr Allen to carry out the work. It <was decided to procure a new seat tor the south sid© of the Hosoital for the parents, and to have the~ o ld one repaired.

Me«rs Brown Bros., Christchurch, offering an A-ray set at about half the original, price, £275. ... The Town: Clerk -wrote asking for the written, consent of tho' Trustees in regard to laying a water- mam through the property.—The Secretary was instructed) to forward the necessary letThe Health Department telegraphed that a soldier was arrivm e for 14 days out-patient treatment.—The Secretary that the soldier had arrived. A circular letter was received' from ■the Inspector-General of -Hospitals in regard to a uniformity of hospital charges to the Government, and advocating a uniform .scale throughout the Dominion, The Department-Suggest-ed' that 30s ibe the charge, and it was decided to leave the matter over until next meeting and in the meantime make inquiries from other boards. v The. Visiting Committee's report showed that everything at the institution <was working . smioothlv. It was recommended; that the footpath in front of the fever ward:be asphalted. The Matron's report showed that during the month 36 patients had! been admitted (25 males, 11 females), discharged'3l (16 males and 15 females), remaining- 23, deaths 2 (males). The following . (gifts . were acknowledged with thanks:—Flowers, Ernest M'Cabe, Mrs Brady; Mrs Deem, Mi- J. D. Grant, Mr M'Kenzie; fruit, Dr Hargreaves and. Mr v A. Fraser; fish,- E. M'Cabe; magazines, Master E. Atkinson, Mrs A. Stubbs: war weeklies, Miff. Vennall; hares, Mr J. Sewell; Salvation Army for concert on Sunday afternoon.
A donation of £1 Is was received from Dr G. Lid Sell (Herbert). The resignation of Sister Rutherford was accepted with: regret, and the Secretary was instructed to write thanking her for her services so excellently rendered in the past. Accounts amounting to £290 lis Id were for payment... The 'meeting then went into committee, and the'matter of the ' nurses' homo was brought up. It was. unanimously decided to proceed with the: work, the architect to be instructed to prepare plans and specifications.
