A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

THe niontWy-inieetiiiff of the North, OtagoA. and' P. Association, was- held •this afternoon, the. President (Mr J. A. ilacpherson) presiding. There .trere also present: Messrs J. Mahoney, J. A. Duff, George Brownlee, J. G. M'Doii•ald, T. ■M'Qrcin, J. O'Brien, R. C. Gil.,' lies, and A. Gillies. Aipologies were received: from Messrs T- S.. Little. D. ■Cameron, W. Gardiner, and H. A. Dovey. The Chairman apologised for .the absence of the secretary (Mr J. Miller), owing to severe illness?. A motion of sympathy' was by the meeting, and Mr George Brownlee temporarily undertook the secretarial, duties. On the motion of the Chairman,; a vote of thanks was accorded' Messrs W. Gardiner, J. O'Brien, and Peter Martin, for their endeavors to secure exhibits for the- show.

Accounts tot-ailing £ls 17s 8d were passed for payment. The Chairman referred to the action taken by other'associations in having the county and liarbor rates remitted on their grounds," and suggested that the local bodies heffe be approached by the Association.. On the motion of Mr J. Mahoney, it was d'ecid.ed that the president, vice-president/ and treasurer be appointed a committee to en-1 deavor to secure similar local remis-, sions. I

.A vote of thanks 1 to:the chairman for his endeavors on behalf of the Association at the Christ-church show" was carried by the heartiest, acclamation.

No meeting of the A. and P. Association will be held in February owing to harvest -operations.
