Per Press Association. Wellington, April 13." The Friendly Societies' representatives to-dav discussed with the Hon. J. A. Hanan and the Hon. A. M. Mvers tho relations between the socletie's and the National Provident Fund. Afterwards a conference, in commits tee, considered the annuity proposals submitted bv the Minister-in-chnrge of the Provident Fund ',Mr Myers). The delegates exnressed a desire that the scope of the scheme should be extendMr Mvers stated he was prepared to consider* favorably a proposal in the direction of providing some financial aid towards maternitv liencfits. Finally the following motion was carried: "Believing that .the offer of superannuation proposed by, the Minister is an earnest endeavor to grant a measure of relief to friendly societies, this meeting accepts such proposal on the optional basis, relying on the Minister's statement that the >( matter mil ,have immediate attention."
