WAIMATE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Wainiate School Committee was held last evening. Present- Mr J. H. White (in the chair). Mrs J. Black, Rev. G. F. Stockwcll. and -Messrs C. E. Torlcssc, W. C. Graham, and J. Mcnzics (secretary). It was resolved to procure half-a-dozen Army and Navy mats for the main doors" of the school, Mr Graham offering to supply same at cost price. It was decided to make a recommendation to the High School to alter the date fixed for the presentation of their prizes to Tuesday. April 18th, and to unveil the Roll of Honor at the school the same evening. The Secretary read the draught annual report, which was approved by the meeting. Accounts amounting to £8 Os Gd were passed for payment. At the conclusion of the business, Mr Graham moved a very hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman for the able manner in which he had carried out his duties during the year. Tin's was seconded by the Rev. Mr Stockwcll and carried with acclamation.

Mr White suitably responded, saying that the work had l>ceii a pleasure to him. Ho was sorry to hear that several of the old Committeemen were not seeking re-election. He expressed his appreciation of the support given him by the Committee during the year.
