TIMARU ORPHEUS SOCIETY.

CONCERT AT AVAIMATE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) •The Tiinaru Orpheus Society met with 'n splendid reception in the Olympic Hall, Waimate, last evening. The hall was packed with a most appreciative audience. The performers were all in good form, and the result was a very creditable one. It is expected that the local Red Cross branch, for whose aid the concert was held, will benefit by a considerable sum as the result. The following : was the order-of the programme:—Russian National Anthem ;- part songs, (a) "In Absence," (b) "War Song": song, "Drift Down, Drift Down" (Winter), Mr J. M. Ireland; part song, "In the Moonlight"; song, "The Blind Ploughman," Mrs E. J. LeOreu; part songs, (a) "Image of the Rose" (solo, Mr J. M. Ireland), (b) ".Maiden, Listen"; song, "W r ill o' the Wisp," Mr C. H. Mason; monologue, "The Three Trees," Mr H.-.Nay-lpr; part song, "Pussy's in the Well"; part song, "Lovely. Night"; song; "I'll seek for thee in._ every flower," Mr J. part' songs, (a)- "Evening" (solo," Mr H. Naylor), (b)."The Troubadours"; song,.. .''Morning," Mrs E. J. LeCren; part songs, (a) "Rest, Dear-est,-Rest, "(b) "The Dear Little Shamrock"; song, '-'Evening Song," Mr E. Budd;, monologue, "0 Memory," Mr T. Naylor;". part songs, (a) "The Long Day Closes," (b) "Laughing." National Anthem. --
