EXCELSIOR FOOTBALL CLUB.

annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Excelsior Football Chib was held in Thorne s tea rooms last evening, Mr J. Gerne (President) in the chair. In moving the adoption of the annual report, irblch has already been published in onr columns, the Chairman congrntuatcd the Club on its successful season. While it had not managed to attain the premiership, it hart "played the game" in" the right spirit, and that was really all that counted. He congratulated the Club on the healthy position of its finances, which, despite the adverse conditions of the past year, showed a credit balance. The Club was well represented at the front, no fewer than 63 members or ex-members having been on active service. of whom several had been killed. As a mark of respect those present stood in silence while the names of those members who had made", the "supremo sacrifice were read. Jlr W. Cooper seconded the motion, and the report was adopted. Messrs H. Drennan aad«St- C. Brien forwarded resignations, which were accepted with regret-. The Secretary was instructed to. write to both gentlemen thanking them for their past services.

Donaldson, and A. Barsdell; Secretary, Mr P. W. Storey: Treasurer, Sir A. G. Hebden. General Committee: Messrs J. Taifc, R. S. Young, J. Lindsay, C.'Browne, R. Rosie. C. Turn bull, F. Holland, and D. Macpnerson. Delegates to North. Otago Sub-Union: Messrs Vf. Couper. J. Gerrie. F. Holland, and A. G. Hebden.

A Tote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers.
