LADIES' SWIMMING CARNIVAL.
The swimming carnival held at L'"' ' Municipal Baths yesterday under tinauspices of the Oamaru Ladies 1 Amateur Swimming Club was .largely intended and was in every "way a mh 1 - cess. 'The weather, though dull, «.i----pleasant, and an attractive proaranini'' of races was gone through, i Most ol the races were well contested. ;] 'n! some close finishes were .seen. Mi" Itussel won the Club championship, and at the conclusion was' presented \yith tlie gold niedal given by tin? <;a|>tain of the Club, Mrs M'Culloch.
