The Medical Board, however. has power to recommend soldier.-, to travel on the railway. Soldiers travelling on these tickets are entitled to tree meals in the dining cars. Convalescent returned soldier.- have the right to become outpatients of a public hospital in certain eases, but they must be provided with certificates. When a soldier is on sick leave the Department grants him ;i lodging allowance of 2s a day during such period. to be drawn at the same time as his ordinary pay.
