Colonel Repington, commenting on the recent fighting, says that : if there is anything to regret it is that with tho 'growth of the armies the great qualities of Sir John French as a leader of tj-oopfc is 110 longer available in the fighting line. He is to delegate to others his fighting duties. There lias been no other such a master as he since Lord Roberts.

Owing to n misunderstanding with tho Turkish Treasury, money intended for war prisoners in Constantinople should bo sent to the Red Crescent Society.
