There was the usual largo attendance at. the Opera. House on .Saturday ctoiiinrr when a splendid series of pictures was screened. "The Expert's .Secret was a good film, its 20(H). loot being replete with sensational acts and fascinating scenes. Thanhouser were ah..v represented bv "The Scientist's .Dob, a really fine story. HAYWARD'S, : PICTURES. The leading feature 'at the Picture Palace to-uitdit will- be "The Angel ol Contention," a Majestic production with all the elements of success. Pathos, vigor and emotion are all present, and receive delicate and finished. treatment, at the hands of a very fine eoinpanv indeed. "Laughing Gas, r. Keystone comedy featuring the inimitable and indispensable Charles Chaplin will also figure in the bill, and give th,> house a very hearty laugh. An Edison drama, "Trie Voice, of Silence," is ail exciting story with an up-to-date setting. Colonel Heez-a-Liar's Adventures in Africa should prove most uurth-pro-voking. It is a clever cartoon -subject, the artist being the well-kuown ,1. K. Bray. The war news io be screened is fresh and. interesting as usual, and features some events of more than ordinary importance. Included are scenes of' the German attack on Antwerp, which give an idea of the perfection to which modern war-mechanism has been brought. ..Batteries in action and German shells bursting in mid-air are clearly depicted. In addition there is the usual array of strong supporting subjects.
