DUNTROON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Fiiay evening, the 10th hist., a most successful concert was held' in the Defence Hall...in aid of the funds to pay for Mr M'Kenzie's hut. Mr R. Hamiltone chairman, explained the object of the concert.-. Ho said the Duntro'on people were under a debt of. gratitude in the.;■'•'Nobbics" for coming all the w.iv from.Oama.ru to assist, and he was .sure they Would get a good hearing. A very good programme was given, and all the company took their parts well, so that the "Nobbies" have established themselves as favorites at Duntroon, Miss Donholm being particularly popular. "We will he pleased to hear them -a gain on some future .occasion. At the conclusion of the concert, the Rev. A Sangster proposed a. very hearty vote of thanks to • the "Nobbies" for the splendid entertainment they had given, and commendied the company on the piinffyle of their combination. Ho also moved a vote_ of thanks to the ladies for supplying, refreshments. The vote was carried with three hearty cheers, and singing "For They are Jolly Good Fellows." Refreshments were then handed round, and the hall cleared for a. dance, the mnsic was supplied by Miss Heck (piano)," Messrs J. Sutherland, ./. Dovey, W. Hutchison, and A. Mcnzies (violins). M.C.'s, Messrs H. Waters and Jas. Cree. On Saturday evening last the M:Kenzie Hut Committee mer- to settle up the accounts, and the balance-shee shows a debit of about t'l 10s. The Committee have a hope of soon having a balance land will meet next Saturday night. The library is being well patronised just now and a good nnmber'of newbooks are now on issue and the readers seem to be pleased with the selection made. The weather is very cold just now. hut we can't complain, we have come through the winter very well so far. ■Stock of. al Hands are 'in good' condition, but feed is getting very scarce now. So far this month we have registered 33 points of rain. The football match played last Saturday between Duntroon nndi Ngapara resulted in a win for Duntroon bv 11 points to 3.
