Guillaux received an ovation ohm landing at the Sports Ground, thereby completing his flight from Melbourne-to Sydney; The aviator delivered the aerial mail, includiing a letter from the Victorian Governor to the Governor-. General of Australia. Received July 20, at 10.15 a.m. Sydney, July 20. Guilluux's flying time for the 582 miles was a little over nine hours. His average speed was 04 miles an hour. He made seven intermediate .stops. A. i succession of storms, heavy rain, and intense cold, and the difficulty of piloting in an tmkuown country proved serious setbacks: At various points he rose to great altitudes, going as high as 15,000 "feet to try .to escape the storms. Tile cold was almost numbing. He had to steer by compass. The journey between Harden and Sydney was perilous, for the wind was so strong and the rain beat- so:fiercely that sometimes the machiiatj nearly capsized*
