ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY'S AWARDS. Per Pkess Association. Christchurcli, -July 10. "The Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Society made the following awards to-day:— r Cora Maney (14 years) and Leila Manev (12 years), for rescuing Ruth M'Kay (9 years) from drowning at Waipawa on 30th January, 1914, framed certificate to each. Michael Taliey Boyle (-38 years), for attempting to rescue Albert Charles Wyatt (8 years) from drowning at Dargaville oiflOth January, 1914, letter of commendation. William Guy Edwards (20 years), for rescuing Frederick Arthur Morgan (10 years) and attempting to rescue William Teviotdale (40 years) from drowning at Fox ton on Ist May, 1914, bronze medal. Joseph Pou (28 years), lor rescuing ten persons from drowning at Otama, Kuaotunu, on December 26. 1913. At Otama on the date mentioned above a boat containing several persons capsized about two' chains from the beach, throwing the occupants into very deep water. All the occupants would certainly have been drowned, as they could not swim, had it not bee* for the prompt action of Pou, who succeeded in rescuing eight of the party, and liad some difficulty in rescuing the other two ladies, as their feet had become entangled in the. rope of the boat, but; after some exertion he succeeded in doimr so. He was awarded a gold medal. John Robert Jeromson (42 years), for rescuing Thomas- Simonds (57 years) from drowning at Wellington on 28th January, 19147 letter of commendation. George Hamerton (21 years), for rescuing Arthur King (7 years) from drowning at Waiharaha beach, Oueliunga, on 14th January. 1914. framed certificate. Joseph Pereira (35 years), for attempting to rescue Thomas Lowe (40 .vears) from drowning at Ocean Beach. Dunedin, on lSth January, 1914, bronze medal.

James Gunn (26 years), for rescuing Thomas E. Hanlon and attempting to rescue Arthur Pole from drowning at Te Araroa on Btli May, 1914, bronze medal.
